X-men Comics taught children that prejudice is evil. Individuals who live in fear and therefore greed make an effort to ruin that which they don’t understand. Interesting that both the most up-to-date Star Conflicts film and X-men picture needed a hard look at politicians (Congress). If power corrupts positively is it possible our system is totally damaged? The Senator in the X-men film learned his lesson a little late.
Spider-man–the new Miracle film in the works–is about a youngster who with usual teenage stress (bullies defeating him up, perhaps not finding any babes, acne and so forth is moderate stuff in comparison to today’s college experiences–such as not finding picture & killed while going to or participating school or being seduced by a lethal medicine or contaminated by a monster disease) is just bitten with a radioactive crawl (radical stuff for early 1960’s).
This gives Peter Parker very powers–insect powers–if increased a man can raise a vehicle and carry it 20 miles as ants do. (Don’t get me started talking about James Pym the Antman who became Giant Man in the Marvel’s Avengers ((Capt. America, Thor the Mastery God etc.))). Include to that Chris Parker was also a brilliant student who could create a web shooter and other good inventions. And Spider-man was born as a bi-product of the bi-product known as radioactive material (which Science still does not know getting rid of). (Try showing that to the Bush administration). Every thing is power! Recall Tesla coils.
But Marvel was not the only position parading superpowered characters. D.C. Comics (Time Warner), too, utilized mythology and stories of Biblical proportions to entrain, energize and excite ages of youngsters, young ones and people from the 1940’s to present. Some characters such as Superman, Atom, Display, Superman, Green Lantern, JLA and others & actually D.C.’ s version of Capt. Marvel may have been influenced by spiritual literature which informed of Hindu Gods and Goddesses and also Biblical personages who could stay in fireplace etc.
Super Personalities: originating through human creativity and from literature, mythology, religion. Nevertheless probably amusing creators just made up their wonderful stories. When when I interviewed Gerry Conway for the Comics Avenger Infinity War he admitted in my experience he had researched a number of the comics he wrote. Conway’s buddy partner Roy Thomas no doubt investigated Conan and Thor and different material while writer & manager at Marvel. They worked together on the fantastic lively Fireplace and Ice film. (Ralph Bakshi/Frank Frazetta).
And initially Thomas got the Conan property over to Wonder from Edgar Rice Burroughs in Tarzana, CA. (Tarzana–Tarzan…get it? Yes, it also is a comic.) Older people know and love the countless Films and TV reveals and serials offering these and different favorite vibrant people: Dollar Rogers, Display Gordon, Commander Cody (which might have encouraged the Rocketeer amusing and film).
The Comic Market is just a metaphor for life. A cosmic drama unfolding. But not to put previous wine into new containers: Often times previously Miracle and D.C. have teamed to complete packages that benefits the play of creativity. I first met Stan Lee while I was the manager of a Amusing Book Store in Facility City, California in the 1970’s.
